Leadership development with coaching tools
"We cannot teach people anything, we can only help them discover it within themselves."
Galileo Galilei
Leadership development
In today's world, when there is one sure thing, namely change, where the most characteristic features are: the desire for freedom, abandoning constraints, reforming all rules, sudden, unpredictable, fast, explosive changes, it is not easy to be a leader. Where generational differences due to technological development and social changes also make the work of leaders more difficult, it is very important that the company pays special attention to its leaders.
A good leader is characterized by awareness. The most important characteristics of conscious leaders that are worth developing are:
-
- The presence of the leader, not in the office, but in the here and now
- A non-judgmental approach to colleagues and partners
- Acceptance, not judgment
- Empathy, emotional intelligence
- The ability to take responsibility and make decisions without fear
- Consciousness controls your life, not your EGO, in other words, You control your mind, not your mind controls You.
- Trust, especially in yourself, so that you can trust others as well
- Segítő, fejlesztő, támogató
- Autonómiát biztosít a szakértő kollégái számára
- Transzparens és következetes kommunikáció

The autocratic leadership style typical of the old world no longer works, but its elements are still needed. A conscious leader takes responsibility and makes decisions when his team demands it, but a high level of awareness is also important to recognize this.
The best way to develop these is through a coaching series, where we jointly identify the areas that leaders need to improve and develop them using coaching tools.
During good leadership development coaching, the leader discovers what needs to be improved, and the coach supports him with his tools.
Since no one can be taught anything, according to Galileo and Carl Rogers, "Don't waste your time training therapists, spend it on selecting them!" In other words, no leader can be taught, they have to be selected and developed.
During coaching, coaches use tools that help the coachee develop. There are hundreds of coaching tools, most of which have been developed by psychologists over a long period of time, even a lifetime's work, testing them on different subjects.
Without claiming to be exhaustive, here are some examples of coaching tools:
-
- Socratic method
- Wheel of Life
- SWOT analízis
- MBTI
- Johari window
- IKIGAI
- Atomic habits
- and we could continue this for pages…
The process itself determines which tools the coachee needs in coaching; it is up to the coach's intuition to decide which ones to use.
